The children's author David Walliams parted ways with longtime publisher.

David Walliams

Best-selling writer for children and comedian David Walliams has been dropped by his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.

An official for the company said: "Upon deliberation, and with the guidance of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing any new titles by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the move was made after an investigation into claims about inappropriate behaviour towards women.

The firm did not confirm the reasons for its decision, adding: "It is not our policy to discuss private personnel issues."

A Highly Successful Literary Career

Walliams ranks among Britain's most prolific writers for young readers, with sales exceeding more than 60 million copies internationally in 55 languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

A number of his works, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as small-screen adaptations.

To date, he has released in excess of 40 works in total, encompassing a Christmas book named *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins in October.

From Screen to Page

His career breakthrough occurred on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to charity and the arts.

This move occurs subsequent to the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive in October.
