New information has come to light about the shocking demises of renowned film director Rob Reiner and artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were discovered at their residence home on Sunday.

The Alarm

According to a report referencing a confidential source, a therapist scheduled for an session was the first to notice something was wrong after not being able to enter the residence. The therapist then reached out to the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides nearby.

When she went into the house, Romy discovered her father's body. Accounts indicate she then left the home distraught, not realizing at that moment that her mother's body was also present. A companion who had gone with her contacted 911. Subsequently, paramedics discovered Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Legal Charges

The police have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of first-degree murder, along with the charge related to a weapon, reportedly a knife. He is currently in custody and denied bail.

Clarifications

The anonymous source also disputed several previously reported details. They said that while Romy Reiner told first responders that her brother Nick lived in a guesthouse on the property, she did not name him as a potential suspect at that juncture.

The source also disputed circulated notions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been unusually "apprehensive" about Nick's behavior in the weeks leading up to the incident. The source claimed the family was "familiar with working through [Nick's] problems together."

This correction applies to reports of alleged "erratic" conduct by Nick at a party held by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the tragedy. While the source stated they were not in a position to confirm whether Rob had "rebuked" his son at the party, they asserted that reports of a "heated argument" between the two were not correct.

Ongoing Inquiry Details

According to law enforcement officials, the coroner had yet to determine at that point whether the Reiners died late on Saturday or on Sunday. Preliminary accounts suggested the condition of their bodies suggested they had been dead for a number of hours.

Nick Reiner was arrested at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the neighbourhood of Exposition Park, roughly 15 miles from the residence. He was due to have a hearing on Tuesday, but his lawyer, Alan Jackson, said his client had not been medically cleared and would not appear until Wednesday at the earliest.
