Each have been linked with the coaching position at the Scottish champions following the former manager's departure on Monday.

The Manager's Stance on The Scottish Club

The Ipswich boss referred to the Glasgow giants as "a really big soccer institution" but emphasized he is "in the middle" of a "extensive rebuilding" with the Championship side.

The 39-year-old took charge of Portman Road in recent years and led them to the English top flight with back-to-back promotions, but they won just four games last season as they were demoted back to the second division and they currently sit 12th in the Championship.

"There have been such discussions," the London-born former Northern Ireland youth international said when questioned about being on Celtic's shortlist.

"This isn't a matter I have given any thought to, or where any portion of my focus is this week.

"I have a unique job here at a remarkable club. And we're at a crucial phase of the season. Everything external hasn't reached my radar."

Context and Agreement Details

It has been suggested that McKenna would be open to speaking to Celtic given his childhood support.

"During youth, we all have our affinities," he said when questioned about these. "I don't think all people has to publicly and declare what they were, but of course it's a massive sports organization."

McKenna signed a new four-year contract in last year and was questioned about his alleged buyout clause.

"In every manager's contract, there are provisions," he replied. "I'm unaware what mine are and, were I informed, I wouldn't tell you regardless!

"I tackle this job like I'll be Ipswich manager indefinitely. I know that's not invariably going to be the situation, but I will consistently do my best as long as I am here."

The Welsh Coach's Position

Bellamy represented Celtic on loan from Newcastle United in the mid-2000s, but the former Wales forward is inclined to complete the ongoing World Cup qualification, a position that would practically eliminate the 46-year-old from immediately taking the Glasgow position.

The Welsh squad are currently in third place in their World Cup group behind group toppers the Red Devils and runners-up Macedonia.

Wins over Liechtenstein and their rivals in November would secure their position in the qualification play-offs, but they are all but guaranteed of reaching that stage, thanks to a successful European competition campaign, even if they fail to finish as their group runners-up.

Considering his current position, the Wales manager, whose agreement concludes after Euro 2028, would be unavailable until following the qualifying matches at the earliest.
