How the Denver Broncos together with the malleable QB can halt that Kansas City Chiefs' dominance.

Week six of the 2025 NFL season

Live coverage includes text commentary of Sunday's games via multiple platforms, beginning with Denver Broncos v New York Jets in London (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Additionally, audio coverage can be heard on select stations covering another key matchup (beginning at 9 PM BST).

We're in the sixth week in the NFL season , following recent talk about the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles being possible championship contenders, each lost their perfect starts.

Striking in those games was the number of infractions both committed. Philadelphia committed them at crucial times meaning they kind of beat themselves after leading by two touchdowns entering the final quarter versus the Denver Broncos, set to play overseas this weekend.

However it was positive to observe that Denver's QB the rookie was able to overcome the shortfall before lead three scoring drives in three attempts during the final period, to win the victory by four points.

The Broncos boast the defensive player of the year with CB their star corner. They rank first in goal-line defense, while Philadelphia are number one in scoring near the end zone, and the Broncos prevailed in that contest.

They executed effective strategies regarding simulated pressure. They weren't necessarily rushing more than four defenders instead they might position two LBs in the interior before drop them out and send a nickel off the edge.

At the start in the campaign, we said during a show how the Broncos might emerge as this season's surprise contenders. They finished the previous year well and did a good job of building upon that.

Are the Denver Broncos this year's dark horses?

New tight end Evan Engram has excelled significantly and recent running back JK Dobbins is a player they believe in. He's currently 5th in the NFL for rushing yards (over 400) as well as tied for fourth in rushing scores (4).

It's impressive that the coach the Broncos' leader displays "RUN IT!" prominently on his call sheet.

This demonstrates how the Broncos are a team that wants to run first, since you can achieve much off the back of that. It slows down the pass rush while maintains in positive down and distances.

This has helped quarterback Bo Nix, who came the NFL as the 12th overall draft pick in the prior draft, passing for 29 touchdown passes – second only to Justin Herbert in rookie records (31 back in 2020).

Other elite QBs have the arm strength to throw anywhere, however they lack the mobility as Nix. He boasts exceptional arm talent, which is different, and he's highly agile.

His strengths include his mobility, being able to throw while moving, and using varied release points to make throws when he rolls outside protection, on rollouts. He is able to deliver precision throws over the middle and over the corner.

As a rookie QB, aged 25, he displays a lot of poise in the pocket and is not bothered by extra rushers. He tries to evade a sack whenever possible and can pass under pressure. He possesses a high football IQ and is quick to decide.

When you constantly run the ball it consumes the clock and forces the defence to stay on the field extended periods, and when you've got an athletic quarterback the defense must cover the field downfield side to side. This proves draining.

Nix has pushed back at Payton during games sometimes and it seems the coach appreciates that attitude, that he's such a competitor. In my view it's exciting for the coach to have a young quarterback that is kind of like play-dough. He can truly develop him how he wants to build it. I think it's a unique opportunity for him.

Payton has won a Super Bowl and now surpassed Bill Parcells in all-time victories (173 - tied 14th overall). He has witnessed it all. In my opinion the achievements the Broncos are experiencing offensively is largely due to his leadership, his play-calling, his situational awareness – and the pairing with the QB aids make him into who he is.

There's no better a better guy guiding you, to help you through some of the tougher situations and boost self-belief.

I have faith in Denver's defence, in the QB's grit and calm. Yet are they good enough to face an elite team at full strength? Because that wasn't championship-level play by the Eagles last Sunday.

Currently, it's unlikely Denver are incredible. They're working better than most, which is a solid position to hold their division. All they need to do to continue this path.

They excel at embracing their forte, that is the ground game, and that's precisely what they must do versus the New York Jets in London. It will likely be the JK Dobbins show, in essence.

The Jets have surrendered 140 yards on the ground each contest (among the worst), five ground scores so far (10th worst), and they are the sole squad without a win any game.

Ever since the NFL began tracking takeaways decades ago, this team are also the first team to be without any turnovers through five games, which is kind of shocking considering that the head coach was previously a defensive coach with another team.

The Chiefs' QB says Kansas City are off to a poor start after Monday's defeat by the Jaguars.

After the upcoming matchup, Denver have a smooth-ish schedule up to their break (in week twelve) - the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans and the Raiders before the Chiefs.

In their division, Kansas City are 2-3 while Denver are tied with the Los Angeles Chargers at 3-2 meaning they could make a run at leading the West.

It depends on what version Kansas City shows up they face because Denver {beat|def
