A individual accused with stalking Kate McCann reportedly left her a voicemail message which posed: "suppose I am Madeleine?"

Julia Wandelt, 24, who witnesses stated has persistently declared she was the missing Madeleine McCann, and her co-defendant are facing charges accused with stalking Kate and Gerry McCann between June 2022 and February this year.

On Monday, Leicester Crown Court was told communication data and evidence obtained from phones recorded Ms Wandelt persistently demanding Madeleine's mother for a genetic test over 2023 and 2024.

Madeleine's case in 2007 - as a three-year-old during a family holiday in Portugal - is one of the most publicized missing child cases and is still open.

'I Do Not Need Money'

A separate phone message, shared in court, captured Ms Wandelt stating: "I know I'm heavy and unattractive like Madeleine was, but I feel what I know."

While another instance of Ms Wandelt's one-way conversations with Mrs McCann's voicemail said: "Imagine there is a small chance that I am she? What happens next? Is that not significant for you?"

"I do not need money, I maintain a existence here in Poland, I only wish to understand," the recording stated.

The tribunal was advised that through electronic messages, SMS messages and communications, Ms Wandelt asked for a DNA test, forwarded childhood photos to her phone in a bid to demonstrate a similarity to Mrs McCann's vanished daughter, and asserted to have "recollections" from a youth with the McCanns.

Robert Jones, an investigator with the police force who gathered the information, advised the court there "showed no any answers" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt also contacted close associates of the McCanns, according to the communication logs.

On 9 October 2024, Gerry McCann answered a communication from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, stating she had "incorrect contact information."

On that occasion Ms Wandelt left a message on Mrs McCann's answerphone saying "I will continue and I plan to establish my claim."

Court proceedings

The court heard the co-defendant established a association via internet with Ms Wandelt before assisting her on a trip to the McCanns' property in the county in last December.

Communication data demonstrated Mrs Spragg had communicated using communication app to Mrs McCann to state the press had depicted Ms Wandelt as "emotionally disturbed" but that she deserved to be considered genuine in the months preceding the appearance to the village, that area, in that winter.

The court learned message exchanges between the two defendants, in last November, considering endeavoring to obtain Mrs McCann's biological evidence from her garbage or from silverware at a restaurant.

"We need to take action," Mrs Spragg told Ms Wandelt.

On the evening of the visit to their house, Mrs Spragg dispatched a text which expressed: "We find ourselves sitting near the McCanns' house with our headlights off similar to private investigators. I desired to achieve this with another person I never thought I would be involved in this with the McCanns."

The proceedings ongoing.
