Personnel have been sent to the location, which is said to be in a southerly district of the city.

Reports suggest the blast happened in a parking area close to a residential building.

Series of Targeted Attacks

Since the start of the extensive conflict in Ukraine, a series of Russian military personnel have been subjected to assaults within Moscow.

This most recent event comes after other serious incidents, including:

  • General Yaroslav Moskalik was lost his life in a car bomb attack in Moscow earlier this year.
  • General Igor Kirillov died in late 2024 when a bomb concealed on a scooter was detonated remotely.

While a source from Ukraine previously connected Kirillov's death to Ukraine's security service, such allegations are rarely formally acknowledged as a matter of official stance.

The conflict has increasingly seen shadowy operations extending into the heart of the Russian capital.

The examination into General Sarvarov's death is still ongoing.
